Utah's largest animated light event, ZooLights!, has drawn crowds during December with 1 million lights and 160 animated animal light displays throughout the grounds.
The ZooLights! Family New Year's Eve Countdown is planned in the Plaza on Monday at 9 p.m. at Hogle Zoo. Hogle Zoo wants to give younger participants a chance to usher in the year by starting earlier than midnight.
