Summary
I'm writing in response to Barbara Montelongo's letter stating that kids need cell phones in schools (Readers' Forum, April 21). Adults have gone cell phone crazy -- showing no respect to others, answering their phones in restaurants, driving in their cars, in the movie theater, even in church! How can we expect kids to be any more responsible? How can we expect them to learn when they're constantly waiting for the next text message? Barbara, you wonder what a parent might do if there's an emergency and they need to get ahold of their child. For hundreds of years parents have been able to figure that out. I bet parents of today can, as well.
