OREM -- Utah Valley State College started strong in its final match of the season, defeating Northern Colorado, 30-27, but then dropped its next three games, 26-30, 24-30, and 24-30, to finish the season and the Division I Independent volleyball championship on a losing note Saturday at the McKay Events Center.

"We got off on a great start," head coach Sam Atoa said. "We had leads, it was competitive, and we knew it was going to be, but unfortunately we weren't able to finish it off."
