Utahns Are Healthy but Getting Fatter

WASHINGTON -- Utah remains one of the healthiest states in the nation, and it is getting healthier in many key categories used to measure overall health.

But Utahns are getting fatter, too, with one in five Utahns now considered obese, compared to only 9.3 percent in 1990. And obesity is one factor that caused the state to slip from the third healthiest state in the nation a year ago to fifth best in the 2004.
