Summary
I read in the Deseret Morning News that Idaho has given schools power to suspend bullies (July 1). This is a good example for other states to follow. I personally avoided bullies in my youth by choosing to associate with large classmates, but I saw some extreme bullying that turned my stomach.
My own son was a victim of bullies in his junior-high years to the extent that he came home with his head swollen so badly he was almost unrecognizable. They shoved him against lockers time and again until he very nearly passed out. I have a picture of him in that deplorable condition to back up my story. Fortunately, after his mother took the matter to the school principal, he survived the ordeal to become an outstanding student in Murray High. But if such circumstances go unchecked, a young victim may very well become suicidal.See the full content of this document
