Utah Firms Doing Exports to China Increases 121%

Summary


The number of Utah-based small and medium-size enterprises exporting goods to China increased by 121 percent from 1999 to 2002, growing from 58 companies to 128, according to the Commerce Department's Commercial Service Salt Lake City U.S. Export Assistance Center.

In 2004, Utah exports to China grew 8 percent to $123 million. China is Utah's seventh-largest export market. Top Utah exports to China include computers and electronic products, processed foods, chemical and machinery manufactures and transportation equipment.
