ROOSEVELT -- Shane Larsen had only been president of the Uinta Basin Area Applied Technology Center for just over three months, but he left his mark before his life ended Tuesday in a collision near Strawberry Reservoir.

Larsen, 34, was killed instantly after his westbound Ford Taurus crossed the center line on U.S. 40 and slid directly into the path of a semitrailer truck, according to Utah Highway Patrol reports.
