In response to Malin Perry's May 1 letter to the editor warning that we'll become more effete (feeble, burned out and decaying) than the French if liberals are allowed to take control of the United States.
On the contrary, I think George W. Bush and the current administration have already put us on that path. Thanks to them, we've gone from a substantial budget surplus to a deficit in the trillions, we're mired down in and paying for a pre-emptive war that that was "sold" to us under false pretenses (and wasn't it bin Laden who was the No. 1 threat?), hundreds of Americans and our coalition partners and thousands of Iraqi civilians have died, we've alienated powerful and longtime allies, our dedicated but meager coalition appears to be unraveling, laws regulating the pollutants in the water we drink and air we breathe have been loosened and hundreds of thousands of Americans are unemployed.See the full content of this document
