OKLAHOMA CITY -- Washington's Danielle Lawrie threw the first no- hitter in four years in the Women's College World Series, leading the Huskies to a 3-1 victory over DePaul on Thursday in the first round.
Lawrie (30-11), a member of the Canadian national team, struck out nine and became the first pitcher in world series history to allow a run in a no-hitter. It was the second no-hitter of Lawrie's college career, following a perfect game against Utah Valley State on Feb. 26, 2006.
