Summary


While John McCain has been in the national spotlight since his first run for president in 2000, only 34% of voters say they know a lot about where he stands on major issues; slightly more (39%) say they know a lot about Barack Obama's positions. This disparity is larger among their respective supporters, with 52% of Obama backers saying they know a lot about his positions, compared with just 44% of McCain's supporters saying that about his positions.
