Summary
Pope John Paul II was a very gifted and holy man who had a unique ability to touch the hearts, minds and souls of so many people throughout the world. Like many Catholics, I was surprised at the sense of loss I felt when I got word of the Holy Father's passing.
I would like to thank my LDS friends, family and co-workers who have expressed their condolences. Furthermore, President Hinckley and all the LDS faithful are to be commended for their various expressions and symbolic gestures of solidarity with the Catholic community.
