Summary
David Zhou's piece (Readers' Forum, Sept. 19) on the price of college textbooks was right on. May I suggest further that institutions of higher learning establish policies or guidelines that professors commit to teaching from the same edition of a textbook for several years. Many subjects simply don't change fast enough to require a new edition of the textbook each year -- especially when the new edition contains little or no new information. As the parent of three college students (and more to come), I would really appreciate this.
