Summary
Republican caucuses this year trebled their attendance -- apparently drummed up by those tea partiers, etc., who wanted Sen. Bob Bennett out. But how did ousting him further their agenda? As a result they have Mike Lee, who is pro-life and pro-marriage like Bennett. He promises to be more conservative, but Bennett was already among the conservative members of the Senate. We're told that large sums of money from out-of-state helped drum up this anti- Bennett push. Of course the credit union crowd opposed him because he sided with the banks. But when one weighs how little the ousting furthers the apparent tea party agenda against all the political capital and out-of-state capital it cost, the whole project seems foolish.
