BANGKOK, Thailand -- The 15th International AIDS Conference began on a disturbing note here on Sunday with the cancellation of a summit meeting of world leaders invited to discuss AIDS, one of the worst epidemics in history.
The summit meeting, a Thai initiative, was to have been held as a closed session today. Invitations were sent to nine national leaders -- Botswana, Brazil, Canada, China, India, Nigeria, Russia, Rwanda and Uganda -- and the head of the European Commission.See the full content of this document
