Summary


A federal judge has tossed out a wrongful death suit filed against Washington County's Purgatory Jail by the surviving family of a Toquerville man who died while in the jail's custody in 2003.

In an order published Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Paul Cassell found that surviving relatives of 54-year-old Raymond Boyett failed to adequately show enough evidence that jail staff was negligent in not providing adequate medical care for Boyett, a recovering alcoholic who suffered from hepatitis C and other medical problems.
