State to File Again Over Body Armor

Summary


After reaching a $220,000 settlement with the manufacturer of defective bulletproof vests, state Attorney General Mark Shurtleff said Monday he plans to file a second claim to get the state's money back for the some 71 vests it purchased from the company.

Shurtleff is seeking $45,912 in reimbursements from Second Chance Body Armor in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan.
