When you want something done right, you best do it yourself. That seems to be the message coming from Springville where citizens, on their own, have instituted a curbside recycling program that other Utah communities may wish to emulate.
A group of residents went to the city and asked officials to look into a curbside plan. Over the next 12 months, a list of 400 other citizens interested in the program was compiled. The city decided to get a few wheels in motion. Ace Disposal gave the city an offer for running things city fathers couldn't refuse. The cost for residents will be $5.41 a month or $5.09 who buy into it for a year. Recycled goods will be heaped by each household into bins identical to current garbage bins.
