Local police officers today will help kick off the Utah Special Olympics with the annual monthlong Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank will start the run at the Gateway Olympic Legacy Plaza, 400 W. South Temple, at 6 p.m. A ceremony will include an address by Public Safety Commissioner Scott Duncan as well as feature the 23rd Army Band of the Utah National Guard.
