CEDAR CITY -- Tim Gainey scored a career-high 21 points to lead three players in double figures as Southern Utah moved to 4-5 in the Mid-Continent Conference with a 78-68 win over Oakland on Thursday night.
Gainey hit 7-of-12 shots from the field and two of the biggest came in the final four minutes. Mike Helms had given Oakland a 64- 59 lead with a 3-pointer with 4:55 to play but Rand Janes hit a jumper to pull SUU to within 61-64.
