Soldier Will Never Forget Kindness of Americans

Summary


On this Memorial Day of honored remembrance freely and easily observed and celebrated across America, I am faced with a dilemma. The cemeteries are not here to visit with my family. They are back at home. The graves of our fallen are not here for my comrades and I to honor, for they are home, too. So I must partake in a Memorial Day observance in another way. But as the original concept of this day was to remember the war dead, I will still remember.

Like those veterans who have gone before me, giving their all, so our sons and daughters won't have to endure living in a country that is without freedom, I will remember their service and sacrifice.
