According to a newspaper report several weeks ago, 500 tons of uranium-contaminated soil may be shipped from Japan to Utah's southwestern desert. The state has opened a Pandora's box -- not just to make Utah the national destination for radioactive discards, but now to make it a global one.

Now is the time to unite to prevent this.
