Conservationists are mourning Larry Mehlhaff, a deputy field director for the Sierra Club, who died of brain cancer at home in Salt Lake City on June 21.
Mehlhaff, 49, had served in several positions with the group and had led the Sierra Club's efforts to block oil and gas leasing and development in national forest roadless areas and wilderness.
