Several Arrests Have Been Made Since 2002 in Old Murder Cases

Summary


Over the past seven years, the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office has solved several cold cases. The number of cracked cold cases has gone up significantly because of new technology from Sorenson Forensics in Salt Lake City. The sheriff's office still has 39 cold cases in its unsolved files.

Nov. 7, 2007 -- Gerald Hicker is charged in the 1974 slaying of BYU student Barbara Rocky. The case was handled by Salt Lake County sheriff's detective Todd Park with help from Sorenson Forensics.
