My 18-year-old sister just ran away from home. She says she's a lot happier where she is, but I'm afraid she might be on drugs, because I saw her a couple of weeks ago and she was very pale and looked really bad. I want to convince her to come home, but she won't listen to me. Can you give me advice? --Jen, 17, Santa Ana, Calif.

I realize you want to help, Jen, but this situation is too serious to handle on your own -- as you know, your sister's life is on the line. If she is on drugs, she's not going to be the same girl you knew before. She will be harder to deal with and probably won't change her ways easily, so you'll need an adult to intervene.
