Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney today cut $425 million in spending from the state's $25.7 billion budget, escalating a battle with the Democratic-controlled Legislature.
The cuts include $388 million in items the governor had vetoed earlier this year and lawmakers voted to put back in the budget.
