PAYSON -- It's been a good year for Springville head coach and former NFL quarterback Scott Mitchell. His alma mater is still in contention to bust the BCS, and Mitchell's newest team, the Red Devils, capped a 6-4 regular season with a dominating 45-7 win at Payson Friday night. Considering Springville won just two games a year ago, losing two in a row to the Lions in both its season finale and a play-in game for the state playoffs, the Red Devils coach is more than pleased to have a No. 3 seed in the state tournament.
"I really could not be happier," Mitchell said. "I'm very competitive and obviously we're not exactly where we want to be yet, but the way the team and the community has responded this year has been tremendous."See the full content of this document
