Summary


Regarding health care: Jana Fowers (Readers' Forum, Sept. 29) was exactly correct saying, "look at Indian care." These folks were promised full care. During 1961-63 at the Fort Belknap Indian Hospital, funds were limited for surgery. The Tribal Council was told by area officials that gallbladder disease could be taken care of medically, which it could not. The surgeries were therefore delayed, resulting in all the possible complications and greater costs.

Such is the result of rationed care.
