Project for the Deaf Earns Recognition

Summary


A Wasatch Junior High student project to boost safety for deaf children has been recognized in a national competition.

Seventh-graders Stuart Childs, Ben Vayo, Nick Shifrar and Dylan Lorimar noticed motorists rarely slow down when encountering "deaf child" signs. So the Granite District students wanted to spice up the signs with lights, which research shows motorists respond to more frequently.
