Electric City, an Illinois manufacturer and integrator of energy savings technologies, announced Thursday that its planned 27- megawatt power curtailment system for PacifiCorp's Salt Lake area has been approved by the Utah Public Service Commission.

In December 2004, Electric City and PacifiCorp entered into a 10- year agreement to provide demand-side management in PacifiCorp's Utah Power service territory. Under the agreement, Electric City will deploy its demand response system, which will allow PacifiCorp to remotely control commercial, industrial and government lighting systems over a managed and secure network.
