If I were a politician, you could call me a flip-flopper. But I happen to think it's OK for both politicians and food writers to change an opinion as a situation changes. Looking back on past columns, I can see how my perspective has changed.

Last April, I did a column on the new Diet Coke Plus -- the "plus" part is added vitamins and minerals. After talking to a few nutrition professionals, I concluded that fortifying a soft drink was just a marketing gimmick, and you should get your nutrition from real food. And that's probably true most of the time.
