Summary
Who decided that our national anthem was a pop song? It seems like you can't go to a sporting event these days without someone at the microphone giving us an overblown "American Idol" rendition of our national anthem. Ugh. Those who select the performers should ask them to play it straight. And those who perform it should remember the national anthem is about respect, patriotism and reverence. It's not about you.
