SPANISH FORK -- Lone Peak pitcher Daniel Sechrest was a dominant presence on the mound for 4 2/3 innings Monday, but Spanish Fork bided its time, and in the bottom of the fifth the Dons exploded for a six-run, two-out rally en route to a 9-6 victory over the visiting Knights in Region 4 baseball.

"Sechrest throws very hard and he is a great pitcher," Spanish Fork coach Jim Nelson said. "He was rolling along, but the thing that we wanted to do was make him pitch and extend innings earlier in the game so that hopefully later in the game when we got him a little bit tired we could score some runs. He lost a little bit of his command I thought and a little bit of his velocity (by the fifth inning), and we found a way to put balls in play."
