The Salt Lake County Council on Tuesday voted to send a proposal to expand the TRAX light-rail system to the county's debt-review committee, a group of financial experts charged with protecting the county's Triple-A bond rating.
The vote came after an hourlong presentation by the Utah Transit Authority on the expansion plans. UTA is proposing that the county allow residents to vote this fall on a property-tax increase that would cost an average of $95 a year on a $180,000 home.
