Summary
I am writing in response to Floyd Edwards' letter (Readers' Forum, May 8) "Illegals have no 'hero' status." Well, that's actually not true. I am sure their descendants will look upon them as heroes, just as we look upon those Americans in decades past who broke the laws of the land at that time and gave us a country much larger than we would have had.
Let's see, there are the Indian treaties, most all of them broken. The Texans still worship the heroes who won independence for Texas after promising to obey Mexican law. When our founding fathers declared independence, they were in fact violating British law, yet we have no problem regarding them as heroes.See the full content of this document
