Orem Center Commits to Cougars

Orem High's 6-10 center Ian Harward committed to play basketball for BYU this weekend and, while he intends to sign a letter of intent in November, he may not enroll until 2011 following missionary plans.

"I was on a family vacation at Fish Lake when I just decided to make my commitment to BYU," said Harward, who was offered by the Cougars more than two weeks ago. Harward, whose only other offer is from Utah State, opened a lot of eyes in Washington this summer when he scored 35 points, hauled down 13 boards and had 10 blocks in a Tri-City tournament near Seattle.
