Summary
In response to Sara Mitchell's opinion (Readers' Forum, July 15), I don't believe Salt Lake County Council members Wilson and Hatch were asking the council to offer benefits to "girlfriends, boyfriends, roommates, employees' adult children or siblings." They were simply asking that Salt Lake County offer equal benefits to all of their employees.
Her thoughts were, if there isn't a "legal" relationship, it's unfair to ask for equal treatment. My question is: Doesn't the real "unfairness" come from having to ask her opinion of what makes a family?See the full content of this document
