Summary
I read the article "Obama writes girl a note for missing school" (June 11). While it is perfectly natural that the parents of 10- year-old Kennedy Corpus would want their daughter to attend a historic town-hall style meeting with the president of the United States, the girl's father correctly expressed concern that his daughter might get into trouble for skipping class (even though it was the last day of classes).
To his credit, President Barack Obama scribbled a note. That action was commendable, and it created a nice keepsake souvenir. However, I think that the wording of the "excuse" reveals a mental disconnect in Obama. Not everything can automatically be excused.See the full content of this document
