PROVO -- A man who claimed to be a Congressional Medal of Honor winner for rescuing Ted Koppel from a Chinese prison camp was arrested last week for allegedly carrying a weapon openly in public.

Police recognized the 56-year-old man as a patient at Wasatch Mental Health in Provo and knew he was prohibited from carrying a weapon -- in this case, a .45-caliber pistol in a hip holster, according to a police report filed in 4th District Court.
