Summary
How misleading, irrelevant and downright silly to put a disjointed story based on maternal mortality in the 1800s on your front page ("Utah study links dying young to large families," Dec. 30). How about some pertinent, current information on child-bearing and breast cancer, the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women?
According to the American Cancer Society, "Much of the long-term underlying increase in incidence is attributed to changes in reproductive patterns, such as delayed child-bearing and having fewer children." From my certified nurse midwives, I also learned that the longer a woman breast-feeds in her lifetime, the lower her breast cancer risk.See the full content of this document
