After five years and a federal court case, the legal loophole that allows for protesters at some schools is closing.
HB177, which passed Monday out of a Senate Education Standing Committee meeting, is the result of a January 20, 1999, demonstration by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals at Eisenhower Junior High School in Taylorsville. Animal rights activists had protested on three separate occasions the flying of a McDonald's corporate sponsorship flag on school grounds.See the full content of this document
