Summary
In the past our government "guaranteed" the accused a speedy trial by a jury of peers. This is not what we now have. Trials are dragged on interminably with numerous phases of discovery and motions of suppression. With juries, an attorney seeks to put his or her own ideologues in the box to try to bend the outcome. The opposing attorney does likewise. The result is juries are hardly peers but instead are a collection of the "least objectionable." They are composed of the least informed and most malleable the opposing attorneys can slide past their counterpart into the jury box. What can be fairer than to be judged by someone who has never formed an opinion? Informed, thinking individuals need not apply. They would never be seated.
