TORINO, ITALY -- In one of those flashbulb moments that come with regularity at an Olympics, I watched last night as a young woman dressed in full volunteer uniform of the Torino Organizing Committee stood at attention and dabbed hard at her eyes as 9-year-old Eleonora Benetti stood in the middle of Stadio Olympico and belted out the Italian national anthem.

This was Olympia at its heart-tugging finest, a moment to make you feel good about just about everything.
