Summary
As a social studies teacher and supporter of religious freedom, I want to correct Matt Andreason (Readers' Forum, Dec. 15) on the issue of creationism in public schools. As amply demonstrated by incidents in several states over the last decade, the motive of many creationists is to impose their viewpoint upon the science curriculum in public schools.
Several court cases have determined that the creationist viewpoint is based upon a fundamentalist interpretation of scripture, not scientific evidence. Creationists want their belief taught as a scientific theory.See the full content of this document
