Walk-on defensive end Brad Ladner wasn't supposed to be on BYU's football team this fall. Maybe in three years, but not now.

He was supposed to be at Pearl River Junior College in Mississippi, where he spent the summer in two-a-days in preparation for the football season. He was supposed to go home on the weekends, attend church -- where he'd left his suit, tie and white shirt -- and next summer, he'd go on an LDS mission and hope BYU was interested in him upon his return in 2008.
