RICHFIELD -- Despite falling behind early on, Region 18 champion Meridian rallied for a 41-39 victory over Bryce Valley Wednesday in the opening round of the 1A girls basketball tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.

The Mongoose didn't panic when it trailed by eight points after the first quarter, and it chipped away at that deficit the rest of the way and eventually pulled out the big victory.
