Summary
Troy Wright (Readers' Forum, June 17) calls the Gay Pride Parade a farce. His view is a perfect example of the attitudes and closed- mindedness that Gay Pride is helping people to overcome in Utah. As a straight man with a wife and a child, I welcome events which bring much-needed diversity to Utah and help show that different lifestyles can co-exist peacefully. I would much rather read about Gay Pride in the Deseret Morning News than another spat over Bikini Cuts, a racy Carl's Jr. commercial or some gun-toting computer geek in a fast car.
