Travelers experienced delays and diversions at Salt Lake City International Airport Friday night, as a dense fog moved in, temporarily stopping the majority of flights from coming in or going out.

Airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann said the fog came in quickly at about 5 p.m. Friday, and within 30 to 45 minutes the main commercial runway was closed.
