California is the only "foreign country" where Utah should be focusing its economic development efforts, GOP candidate for governor Jon Huntsman Jr. told the Deseret Morning News editorial board Tuesday.

"I don't see a need to do trade missions beyond California, simply because I see a huge opportunity in that state," Huntsman said, citing what he described as a "regulatory reign of terror" that's driven up the cost of doing business there.
