Finding Home: Military Veterans Use Va to Get Off the Streets

Summary


On any given day in Utah there are 165 beds at six different government-sponsored locations to help more than 1,000 of the Beehive State's homeless military veterans, most of whom live along the Wasatch Front.

Those vets, if they qualify, can lay claim to one of the coveted beds for up to two years during what the Department of Veterans Affairs calls an "episode." The VA allows vets up to three episodes in a lifetime -- three opportunities to turn their lives around.
