Roland Vern Wise, 90, former district director for the Internal Revenue Service in Utah, died Sept. 8, 2004, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mr. Wise had served as Utah's IRS district director from 1959 to 1981. He had joined the IRS in 1938 and at age 24 was the youngest revenue agent in the country, first serving in Salina/Wichita, Kan., and then Boise.
